3,000 IRS Agents Have Weapons Licenses, 60 To Carry Shotguns

You may not be aware of this but many of the employees of the IRS are allowed to walk around armed. In fact, nearly 3,000 IRS agents apparently have a license to kill–after all, the right to be armed means the right to use that weapon.
As Obama’s welfare state grows, so does his armed security state. In fact, it is getting so ubiquitous for government employees to be allowed to be armed where ever they go, it might be easier to list those officials that can’t tote a gun where the rest of us are banned from doing so. (That is sarcasm, for those unaccustomed)
Only a few years ago, the IRS ordered another shipment of Remington Shotguns to go with the many other orders of firearms they’ve gotten over the years. The IRS has a regular arsenal of weapons and also has SWAT-styled attack teams under its wing. A government procurement website recently posted a quote for 60 Remington Model 870 Police 12-gauge pump-action shotguns supposedly for the IRS Criminal Investigation Division, 0r IRS-CID.
But according to one report by J. Russell George, the Treasury Department’s inspector general, the IRS had 11 accidental firings of those weapons between 2009 and 2011. So, just who are these heavily armed, accident-prone agents protecting?
With all the scandals about the IRS misusing its powers to attack Americans that just happen to be conservative and oppose Obama’s power grabs, can we in any way assume we are safe from these para military “tax men”?
Add this to the fact that the Department of Homeland Security has ordered thousands of guns, truck, armored vehicles, as well as a billion rounds of ammunition, and we see a wild growth in the police state.
So, should it surprise anyone that the Department of Defense has suddenly decided that it doesn’t need any permission from Congress or local governments to spring into military action against American civilians?
Radio Host Mark Levin recently talked about how the IRS is violating the Constitution and asked why so many of them are armed.
Rep. Tom Graves, (R-Ga) also recently noted that the IRS has lost its trustworthiness. “The fact is the trust in the IRS is gone. The American people have lost trust in this organization and rightfully so,” he said.
With all this intimidation and stormtrooper tactics it is no wonder that 48% of Americans polled think Obama could be impeached for the IRS scandal.
